It All Adds Up

The Opportunity Foundation builds confidence and self-sufficiency for
persons with disabilities. And the result?

They're speaking for themselves!

Working

The Opportunity Foundation is a remarkable, region-wide success story.
The Opportunity Foundation provides growth, independence, career opportunities, integration, and a business community resource of productive, skilled workers who have confidence in their professional abilities.

Living

The Opportunity Foundation believes persons with disabilities should have the most freedom possible. From group settings to semi-independent apartment or home living, persons with disabilities learn, live and work, gaining confidence in their self-sufficiency.

Learning

When adults with developmental disabilities prepare for greater independence in their living, vocational and social situations, they become productive wage-earning consumers in their respective communities.

The Opportunity Foundation's training programs, support and reinforcement instill the confidence needed to take advantage of these basic experiences in life.

Recreation

"Greatness of achievement is measured by the enormity of obstacles to overcome," it is said. Research has proven that recreation and leisure are vital to building the personal stamina it takes to face those challenges.

The Opportunity Foundation believes persons with disabilities should enjoy leisure activities, social interaction and adventure so they too, become well-rounded and capable of leading a confident, productive life.

Making a Difference:

"This was the first time in my life I did something my father's never done…what a high…I'll never forget it."

"I am productive…in charge of my life. As a wage earner, I contribute to my community. It feels good…"

"Cooking, cleaning and shopping for myself has made me more aware of the outside world. I enjoy living on my own…"

"Step by step. That's how I take it. Sometimes it seems like it's all uphill. But I've learned to have a goal…"
